Wide Screen Notebooks

Wide screen notebooks are useful for watching movies or when you need to lay out your work side by side. It may seem like the only thing useful about wide screen notebooks is watching movies, but that is not true. You can take advantage of the wide screen to do side-by-side web browsing, image editing or view many columns of a spreadsheet at a time. These wide screen displays are commonly referred to as WXGA (Wide eXtended Graphics Array). WXGA displays give you a screen like a movie theater with its 16:9 aspect ratio.

Wide screen notebooks can come in various widths. They usually start at 15 inches and go up to 17 inches. The 15 inch wide screen notebooks have a resolution of 1280x800 while the 17 inch wide screen notebooks offer 1440x900. Whatever you decide to go with, wide screen notebooks provide that extra dimension not found in standard notebook displays.
